The North

The North, as referred to by the inhabitants of Stonebridge refers to a swathe of more-or-less inhabitable land covering about 25,000 square miles centred around the Great Pass, a miles wide gap in the Northern Mountains. ‘The North’ is approximately 250 miles from North to South, with The Black Keep at it’s most northern edge and the River Rhone marking it’s southern border. The Great Pass runs from North to South, acting as a highway for all manner of creatures and allows access to forests and high meadows on it’s edges. From east to west ‘The North’ is about 100 miles across before the mountains become impassible nearly year round.

Notable locations include the town of Stonebridge which sits in roughly the centre of ‘The North’ at the narrowest point in the Great Pass. 60 miles North East sits the entrance to the Dwarf settlement of Goldhold. The Black Keep is located at the very Northern edge of the Great Pass in a narrow valley. The Crater of Steam is located high in the mountains around 100 miles north of Stonebridge and is home to a large clan of kobolds and their monstrous saurian allies.
